Bouillotte Sail Boat Table Lamp - circa 1920's or 30's. Solid brass shade and uprights, and a heavy wooden base. Converted to electrical; uses small candelabra bulbs. Candle holders are colored and textured with wax for authenticity. Shade has sailing ship cut-out motifs on two sides with plastic (celluloid) inserts, quite a rare feature. Originates from lamps used when playing the card game of Bouillotte in France. The shade moves up and down on a central post to adjust as candles wore down.
